The Independent Social research conducted by Pandit Rao Dharennavar, assistant Professor in PG Govt College sector 46, Chandigarh, has come up with interesting findings and happy news for all true Punjabis. The study reveals that Punjab can be made Alcohol less state by women of Punjab. This sociological research was conducted through interviews with open ended questions .. He conducted as many as 500 interviews from different section of society in Punjab and Chandigarh. 100 percent of interviewed people feel that Punjab can be made Alcohol less society. 80 percent of people feel that this drastic change can be brought by women of Punjab. 90 percent of people feel that Punjab can be made alcohol less state by generating awerenss of religious purity of Punjab. 80 percent of people feel that Money and government are responcabe for making Punjab alcoholic state.The intrsting finding to note is that 70 percent of interviewed people strongly feel that bad Punjabi songs are responsible people to drink. 60 percent of people feel that religious feeling is decrasing in punjab.99 percent of people say big no to very interesting fact of Punjabi women to be silent against raising alcoholism in Punjab. It is important note that Punjabi women has been silent throughout history but this study has brought up with findings that Punjabi women will rise her voice against alcoholism. 100 percent of people feel that Punjab was holy and it will remain holy forever. Feeling and social reality are just opposite so it will be interesting to see how the feeling of people will give way for Punjabi women to make Punjabi alcohol less state . It is interesting to know that the recent strong voice against Punjabi singer Daljit Dosanjh by Punjabi women in Ludhiyana is supporting this study. The study may have given hope for Punjabi women but alcoholism is like mountain in Punjab. The proper planning and social awareness may bring change. The study was carried by Pandit Rao Dharennavar, who is teaching Sociology in Govt college, Chandigarh,is originally from Karanataka but he has learned Punjabi so well that he has written 8 books in Punjabi. According to him Punjab is holy state with religious mind but now Punjab is alcoholic state therefore I took up this study to know whether Punjab can be made alcohol less state or not . He hopes to have this drastic change because Pandit Rao feels the heart of Punjabi people is very soft, day will come which will make them to realize the sacrifice of Gurus.
