Teacher murder : Election Boycott : None of the Dhadiala villagers polled their vote

Tanda: The residents of village Dhadiala near Tanda boycotted the elections protesting against the Police who failed to trace the murderers of a teacher who was murdered on 9th March.

Notably, A teacher Arwinder Singh Chauhan of village Dhadhiala was hanged to death in the tubewell room in the farms of the Dhadiala village on 9th March, 2014. He was hanging with the roof of the room with a piece of cloth while his hands were tied backside with another piece of cloth. At that time, the Police registered the case against Palwinder Singh Pola resident of village Saggran near Bhogpur on the basis of the statement of the deceased’s father Gurchetan Singh and began the investigation.

Deceased’s father told Police that Palwinder Singh Pola had killed his son Arwinder Singh in order to take some old revenge. He said that his son refused a marital proposal which Palwinder Singh was suggesting him. He said that his son was to marry some other girl on 23rd March but Palwinder killed him on 9th March in the tubewell room.

Arwinder Singh was a teacher at Army School Adampur and his marriage was scheduled on 23rd March.

Today, the whole village decided to boycott the elections against the Police who failed to trace the murderers even after 2 months of the case. They said that if the Police won’t solve the case in the near future, then their agitation will intensify.

DIG Police also reached the village and tried to persuade the villagers to vote after assuring them to take the required action but the villagers didn’t took their decision back.

On the other hand, when we talked to SSP Hoshiarpur, Mr. Sushil Kumar, he said that they have arrested Palwinder Singh and further action will be taken accordingly.
